Adam Kee was born and raised in the St. Louis Region. He received Presidential and Music/Performance Scholarships to McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, where he double-majored in Theatre & Vocal Performance. In 2003, he was named the Lincoln Laureate of McKendree University by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. In his final year at McKendree, Adam wrote, directed, and acted in Fundamental Decencies, a full-length play based on the McCarthy hearings.
Adam delivered the Commencement Address at his alma mater in 2004, and that same year, the Fine Arts Department named the Adam Kee Rising Star Award for Fine Arts in his honor. After graduating Magna Cum Laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree and upon being accepted into the Master of Fine Arts in Acting program at the Actors Studio Drama School, he moved to New York City during the summer of 2004.
He studied the Method in Graduate School for three years and also studied Meisner at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Adam completed his MFA in Acting in 2007, and has performed Off-Broadway, Off-Off Broadway, in Regional Theatre & Summer Stock. He has appeared on Television, in Film, and in Online Video Work. He has been nominated 5 times for New Hampshire Regional Theatre Awards, and in 2008, he received the "Best Actor" award for his performance as Tom in The Glass Menagerie.
Also a teaching artist, Adam has been a guest actor at the School of Visual Arts, NYU, and the New School for Drama. He teaches group classes and private lessons in Voice, Acting, Speech & Dialects, and Musical Theatre. Adam is a member of the Actors Studio in New York City. |
